“Scott (Zipadelli, crew chief) and the boys gave me a heck of a piece tonight.” Hill said. “We wouldn’t have won this race with them. We’re two-for-two with this truck so we’re going to try to go three-for-three with it.” Christian Eckes earned his second pole of 2019 and led four laps on the way to a career-best third-place finish. “We had a pretty fast Tundra overall. Now we can move on to Martinsville and Homestead with a little momentum with a pole and a third. Overall, a good night, but definitely something to improve on.”
An up and down night for Ankrum left the DGR Crosley driver looking ahead to the next round of The Playoffs. “We made it to the Round of 6, so that’s all that matters. It doesn’t matter how you got there, just that you get there. I think we will ready these next few races, but we have some tough ones coming up.”
Todd Gilliland finished fifth and Harrison Burton took the checkers in ninth to round out the top-10 in the 200-mile event.
The NASCAR Truck Series heads to Talladega Superspeedway on Saturday afternoon October 12th.
